■ Brief History
Apr 1984 Established as a Green Cross Research Institute by use of a special fund from the Green Cross Corporation, thus becoming the first private non-profit research foundation approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology
Dec 1985 Adopted the new institute title ‘Mogam Biotechnology Research Institute (MBRI)'
Nov 1986 Moved to our current location following the construction of the new building and research facilities
Nov 1989 Designated as a WHO Collaborating Research Center in the field of vaccines and diagnostic agents
Oct 1991 Participated in a government-supported research project from the Ministry of Science & Technology
Dec 1993 Participated in a government-supported research project from the Ministry of Health & Welfare
Oct 1994 Established and sponsored the first Mogam Awards that recognize the achievements of members of the Korean Society for Molecular & Cellular Biology
Nov 1995 Redesignated as a WHO collaborating Research Centre in the field of vaccines and diagnostic agents
Dec 1995 Participated in a government-supported research project from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Energy
Jul 2001 Completed the construction of a Bio Pilot Plant
Apr 2003 Launched the Cord Blood Bank (CBB) in collaboration with the Green Cross Reference Laboratory
Oct 2004 Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology for research collaboration
Nov 2004 Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Postech Biotech Center for research collaboration
