It is our policy to file patent applications when appropriate to protect technology, inventions and improvements that are considered important in the development of our product candidates. We basically seek patent protection in Korea as well as in the United States and several key foreign countries.
Currently MBRI has more than 40 patens filed and 150 issued patents and is actively operating a patent licensing program. The following table summarizes MBRI's current intellectual property estate on the recombinant protein therapeutics, small molecules & peptides, vaccines and diagnostics.

Several important technologies covered by our patents include;
• Recombinant proteins: hGH, G-CSF, hPTH, IFNα
• Vaccines: Hemorrhagic fever, Varricella zoster, HBV, HCV
• In vitro diagnostic kits: HIV, HCV, Helicobacter pyroli
One of MBRI’s key priorities is the continual expansion of our pipeline of biopharmaceutical
product candidates. Our current pipeline focuses on diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer and
infectious diseases.
Products and technologies of specific interest to MBRI include;
• Novel therapeutic targets and candidates for liver cancer
• Biomarkers for the development of diagnostic kits
• Technology to enhance the potency of antibody therapeutics
• Technology related to molecular diagnostics in the extraction, amplification and
detection of nucleic acids
• Technology to generate highly stable siRNAs and to develop their formulations that preferentially target hepatocytes
